Start with what your customer needs
A website brief often starts with a number: how many pages do we need? I prefer to start with the visitor. What do they need to understand, what evidence will help them trust you, and what should they do next? The answers tell us how much space the website needs.
When one page works well
A One Page website suits a clear, focused offer. A visitor can move from an introduction to services, selected work and contact details without leaving the page. This can be a useful starting point for a small business with a concise message and a manageable amount of content. It still needs a proper structure, readable text and a carefully considered mobile layout.
When separate pages earn their place
If you offer several services that need different explanations, a fuller website gives each one breathing room. A dedicated service page can answer specific questions and show relevant projects. Separate About, portfolio and contact pages can also make a growing collection easier to navigate. More pages help only when they contain useful, distinct material.
A clear scope makes the budget useful
Prowebdsgn's One Page design and build package is £500. The business website package is £800 for up to five standard pages. Both use supplied text, images and brand assets and include two revision rounds. Hosting, domains, subscriptions and specialist functionality are separate. The written quote confirms exactly what your project includes.
Bring the content to the conversation
Before choosing a package, collect your service list, best project photographs, contact details and a short explanation of what makes your business different. We can then decide what belongs on the website and build a structure around it. A smaller site with a clear purpose is a sensible foundation for future work.
